Type Locality and Naming
Along the Muzrabat River, Gissar ridge. M. R. Dzhaliyev, 1968 (190, p. 43). Stratotype on the right bank of the Muzrabat River valley (Gazdagan gorge). Included in the Muzrabat horizon.
Synonym: Muzrabat Suite, Музрабатская св., Muzbrat Fm, Muzrabat suite
Lithology and Thickness
Gray, bluish-gray, red clays with layers of gypsum and shell limestones. Thickness 4-40 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Conformably overlies the Dasgiryak Fm
Upper contact
Conformably overlain by the Modun Fm.
Regional extent
Southwest, South, Northwest Gissar, Babatag ridge. The Muzrabat Fm and the underlying Dasgiryak Fm are united by H. H. Mirkamalov et al. (300) into the Dehkanabad Fm. (51; 56; 189; 383; 446; 452).

Contains ammonites Subprionocyclus cristatus Bulling., S. ornatus Iljin, S. gissarensis Chak., S. pseudocristatus Iljin; marine bivalve mollusks - Costeina costei (Coq.); foraminifers - Paragaudryina babaevi Suleim., Spiroplectammina praelonga (Reuss); ostracods - Neocyprideis (?) leguminiformis Andrv.
